Opened since 1933, La Fromagerie Hamel is a choice destination for cheese lovers in the Montreal area. Since 2001, A2 Design guided this family business in creating the 5 branches design, by optimizing every time the customer experience.

Challenges

Enhance and modernize the Hamel image; redesign the layout for improved traffic flow, efficiency and shopping comfort; establish a distinctive presence that complements the rustic setting of the Atwater Market yet still stands out prominently in this competitive, high-traffic environment.

Solution

A2 began by installing simple yet powerful storefront signage by setting the logo and logotype against a dramatic black banner. New storage furniture and display stands give the space a more modern look. To encourage more people to stop in and browse, A2 created a leisurely but highly functional layout that makes it easier to browse – and more efficient for the staff to serve them.

Results

A powerful, inviting presence, attracting passers-by with products that are prominently displayed to encourage browsing and self-serve shopping.
